Taylor & Braithwaite’s North East Area Sales Manager, Geoff Butterfield has decided to hang up his hard hat after 40 years in the business and retire. When asked what he enjoyed most about the job Geoff said “No two days are ever the same … one day I am suited and booted for a boardroom presentation and the next hard hat and high viz safety boots at the ready for an on-site meeting.” Geoff went on to say “I worked and became friends with some great characters in the plant and machinery world… where we worked hard and played just as hard!”

He described “Being part of a great team of people with an established and well respected supplier of plant and machinery in the North of England” as what he enjoyed most about working for Taylor & Braithwaite. Ian Burton, Director of Sales at Taylor & Braithwaite believes Geoff had been an integral member of the team and wanted to thank him for all his hard work over the last six years “Geoff has helped us transform from a solely agricultural business to a highly regarded and respected construction and agricultural company”. Ian went on to add “I would personally like to say how much I have enjoyed working with Geoff, and to thank him for sharing all his experience and ideas with the company and playing a pivotal role in where we are today. I wish him and his family all the best for the future”

For Geoff now, to just relax and take things easy is his only new target, with his grandchildren, painting and gardening helping to ease him into his next adventure.
