Taylor & Braithwaite’s Working Demonstration Event proves a success

Image from the quarryTaylor & Braithwaite held a successful three day working demonstration event at Roan Edge Quarry by kind permission of L&W Wilson. The event was a great success with over 200 visitors spectating over the three days. It was the first event T&B have held of this size, particularly with a wide variety of construction machines.

The working demonstration event comes at a time when Taylor & Braithwaite have been working upon expanding their construction arm of the business and have invested in a fantastic range of market leading construction equipment. The purpose of the event was to showcase T&B’s product portfolio to a variety of existing and new construction customers both local and further afield. Many families also attended on the Saturday, which was a first time experience for lots of children seeing machines in a working quarry environment.

There were various working demonstrations of equipment and visitors had the opportunity to test drive the some of the latest Hyundai machines. T&B were proud to host the Hyundai R430LC-9A first working appearance in the UK after its launch earlier this year.

T&B also held an operator’s competition throughout the three days where visitors were timed on how quickly they could operate a Hyundai machine whilst moving metal rods into cones. Prize money for 1st place was £250, 2nd place was £100 and 3rd place was £50. To enter the competition visitors had to pay an entry fee of £1, which then T&B and competition sponsors BPH attachments suppliers of ProDem attachments tripled the total entry fee costs taking the total donation to £390.

The money raised from the competition will be donated to The Great North Air Ambulance as chosen by our first prize competition winner Ricky Lucas from Lucas Plant Hire, whose time was 2 minutes and 8 seconds. Second prize went to Danny Mckeown with 2 minutes and 10 second and third prize went to Mike Stainton with 2 minutes and 21 seconds.

Taylor & Braithwaite’s sales director Ian Burton said “We put a lot of hard work into organising the event and we were thrilled with the amount of visitors who came through the gates. It was fantastic to see so many people take part in our operator’s competition and to raise a great amount for charity.”
