YANMAR AND HYUNDAI FIRST CEMENTS LOCAL FIRMS’ LONG RUNNING PARTNERSHIP

Two Cumbrian firms have strengthened their partnership following a decision by Waitings Ltd to purchase Yanmar equipment from newly appointed Yanmar dealer, Taylor & Braithwaite. This deal follows a another first by Waitings Ltd who were the first customers to purchase Hyundai machines over ten years ago from Taylor & Braithwaite after they switched focus from agricultural machinery sales to heavy construction equipment.

The deal, between Waitings Ltd, an award winning civil and marine engineering company based in Penrith and construction equipment specialists, Taylor and Braithwaite from Sandford near Appleby is the latest in a business relationship that has grown over several years.

Two brand new Yanmar machines were delivered to Waitings Ltd this month following the appointment of Taylor & Braithwaite as the only dealer for the brand in Cumbria and the North East of England.

The machines, a Yanmar VIO50 midi excavator and Yanmar C30R tracked dumper, were first used by Waitings Ltd during a prestigious contract to install a long awaited replacement bridge at Pooley Bridge, after the original one was washed away in the devastating floods of 2015.

Ian Burton, sales director at Taylor & Braithwaite said: “I am delighted to be involved in such a prestigious deal with Waitings Ltd, which cements our relationship even further as Waitings were also the first customer to purchase Hyundai machines over ten years ago following our appointment as dealers for Hyundai equipment and nothing gives me greater pleasure than knowing we have been instrumental in ensuring continued investment in the local economy.”

Adrian Ash, director of operations at Waitings Ltd said: “We are more than happy with our new machines, and were thrilled to use them during the Pooley Bridge project, which re-connected a local community.

“Our relationship with Taylor and Braithwaite is a perfect example of two local companies working well together. Our particular area of expertise demands the very highest standards of support from our suppliers, which I am delighted to say we get from Taylor and Braithwaite.

“They have expanded their product range yet again to match the needs of our business, offer a bespoke service on top of the base manufacturer offering and always respond rapidly to our after sales requirements.”

Ian Burton added: “The new Yanmar machines Waitings have invested in will also be used to support other major infrastructure projects in the county going forward, which in turn will secure economic growth and employment opportunities for local people.
